“Youthful Optimism Signals Urgent Need For Revamp”-Mahama

President-elect John Dramani Mahama has emphasised that the optimism displayed by young Ghanaians after his election victory highlights the urgent need to improve the country’s future.

In an interview with DW TV on December 16, Mahama praise the enthusiasm of the youth determined to build a better life for all citizens.

“The faces of the young people I saw at the rallies and their high expectations of our government inspire me,”It humbles me and drives me to give my best in turning this country around and securing a brighter future for our youth.” He added, “I call this a reset for Ghana, a reset to create an environment where young people can thrive and unlock their full potential.”Mahama said.

Further, Mahama promised that his administration would focus on fostering an inclusive environment where every young Ghanaian, regardless of background, can dream big and achieve success.

Mahama won the election with 6,328,397 votes, or 56.55% of the valid ballots, defeating his closest rival, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who received 4,657,304 votes, or 41.61%.
