Diana Hamilton, a multi-award-winning Gospel artist, will perform a spirit-filled set at this year’s ‘Awake Experience with Diana Hamilton’ in Accra and Kumasi on February 19 and 26, respectively.
On Monday, January 16,2023, the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra hosted the launch of this year’s much-publicized event.
Ohemaa Mercy, Perez Musik, Joe Mettle, Celestine Donkor, and Bernice Panford are among the artists scheduled to perform at the event on February 19 at the Perez Dome in Dzorwulu, Accra.
The show will be repeated at the Church of Pentecost in Bantama, Kumasi, with artists such as Moses OK, Ceccy Twum, ACP Kofi Sarpong, and Piesie Esther taking the stage.
When the floor was opened for journalists to ask questions, the celebrated gospel songstress in the presence of the immediate past Chairman of the church of Pentecost, Prof Opoku Onyinah and other clergies was asked why secular musicians like Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy were not billed to perform.
In response, Diana Hamilton said all the artists she has billed are unique in their own ways and that they are artists she personally enjoy listening to hence “I am very happy I have them to support me.
She explained further that she is not preventing any artist from coming to support her.
But after the event, the ‘Mo ni Yo’ crooner in a chat with the media on the aforementioned question beguiled,” We don’t ask such questions”.
The ‘Awake Experience with Diana Hamilton’ is a gospel musical concert that started in 2014 in London with Ghana hosting its first edition in 2016.
