Yemi Alade Earns First Solo Grammy Nomination

Nigerian songstress Yemi Alade has reached a historic milestone by earning her first solo Grammy nomination in the Best African Music Performance category for her soulful track, *Tomorrow*. 

During an interview with CNN’s Larry Madowo at the 15th-anniversary celebration of *CNN African Voices* in Lagos, Yemi Alade shared her excitement and gratitude for the recognition. 

“It feels surreal. It feels like a miracle has happened in my life. I almost thought this moment might never come. It’s a good time to be alive,” she revealed. 

She emphasised how the nomination strengthened her belief in perseverance and determination. 

“I feel seen because this nomination reassures me that anyone can achieve their dreams. You just have to believe and keep moving forward. Even when the world tells you to stop, don’t stop,” she stated. 

This achievement marks a significant milestone in Yemi Alade’s illustrious career, firmly establishing her as one of Africa’s most influential voices on the global music scene.
