Dancehall artist Ras Kuuku has voiced his frustration over the lack of recognition he and fellow musician Yaa Pono receive in the Ghanaian music industry.
Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, Ras Kuuku shared that despite helping many artists launch their careers, they fail to acknowledge his contributions once they rise to fame.
“I helped groom many artists in Ghana, but once they made it, they didn’t recognise me,” he said. He also revealed that even before Ebony became a star, Bullet reached out to collaborate with him, and Yaa Pono’s efforts for others have similarly gone unappreciated.
Additionally, Ras Kuuku claimed the title of Ghana’s top live performer, stating,
“When it comes to live performances in Ghana, I’m the best. Although I may not have had many opportunities to showcase this, no one comes close in live band or beat performances.”
