Renowned Ghanaian musician Wendy Shay has awarded a full educational scholarship to Tracy, a pupil of Ridoana Comprehensive School in Ashaiman.
The life-changing gesture follows a viral video that captured Tracy passionately singing and dancing to Wendy Shay’s hit song “Too Late”, a performance that caught the musician’s attention.
Wendy Shay, who had earlier performed at the school during the All Ashaiman Schools Festival, made a special return visit to honour Tracy. In a heartwarming moment shared on her social media pages, Wendy addressed the students and staff, recounting how Tracy’s performance moved her.
“About a week ago, I performed here, and during my set, I noticed a talented, beautiful shining star—Tracy—dancing and singing passionately to my song ‘Too Late’. The video went viral and is still trending. So I came back today to say thank you and reward my little star, my shining star, Tracy,” Wendy said.
The scholarship will fully cover Tracy’s education from her current level through to university, offering her a remarkable opportunity for a brighter future.
