Auntie Imoro Muniratu, also lovingly called Auntie Muni, the well-known waakye vendor, has passed away. The unfortunate death took place at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) early on Wednesday, January 3, 2024. Her son, Alhassan Abdul Arafat, acknowledged the regrettable event in a statement to Asaase FM, situated in Accra.

Auntie Muni was receiving treatment at the SSNIT hospital. After two days in the hospital, Auntie Muni asked to be released despite claiming to have leg aches, according to Arafat, who disclosed that she had been battling health problems.

She was transferred to the University of Ghana Medical Centre, but her health did not get better. Sadly, around 3 a.m., she passed away from her illness.

Arafat has announced that Auntie Muni’s funeral and burial will take place in Tamale today, in accordance with her wishes.

Many people who mourn her have a hole in their hearts from the loss of this culinary star, who was well-known for her delicious waakye. At seventy-two, Auntie Muni lived.
