NPP’s vice presidential candidate Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh has accepted the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) defeat in the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
In a statement, he expressed the party’s respect for the decision of the Ghanaian people and vowed to learn from the experience to make a stronger comeback.
He acknowledged the disappointment among NPP supporters but stressed the need for introspection to understand the factors behind the party’s electoral performance.
“The 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections resulted in a victory for the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Although this was not the outcome the NPP want, we respect the verdict of the Ghanaian people. We have heard you clearly, and with humility, we accept your decision. We will work with you to make things right,” his statement said.
Further, Dr Opoku Prempeh also shared that the party has already begun discussions to analyse the election results and identify areas for improvement.
“I am grateful to the Almighty Lord, the giver of life, for bringing me this far and for the honour of serving my party and Ghana,” he added.
