Graphic Online has reviewed an official report by Dr. George Prah, the suspended Medical Director of the Trauma and Specialist Hospital at Winneba.
The report indicates that the patient, after regaining strength and consciousness, remained calm and wished to return home.
Consequently, two social welfare officers—one from the Winneba hospital and another from Gomoa Ojobi—arranged for the patient’s transportation to her home community via ambulance.
Dr Prah emphasised that the hospital provided compassionate care to the patient despite the unfortunate incident.
He reassured the public that the Trauma and Specialist Hospital employs well-trained professionals who adhere to the standards of the Ghana Health Service and maintain the facility’s reputation.
This development follows a disturbing video last week showing an abandoned patient in the bush at Gomoa Ojobi after an ambulance from Winneba Government Hospital left her there.
As a result, authorities temporarily suspended Dr. Prah pending the investigation.
Minister of Health Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye has tasked the Ghana Health Service with completing the investigation and submitting a report within 30 days.
