Accra Fm’s Nana Romeo has called on the Ghana Football Authorities to hand over the national senior men’s soccer team ‘Black Stars’ to the care of ex-captain Asamoah Gyan.
The controversial radio personality has launched the campaign after the Black Stars suffered the 2:0 loss by Uruguay in their last Group stage match in the Ongoing Qatar 2022 World Cup.
According to Romeo, he believes and is so much confident that Asamoah Gyan can make the best out of the national team when he becomes the manager.
Emphasising on his claims, Nana Romeo has listed the former Black Stars captain as someone who is skillful and indepthed in the technicalities of football.
He maintained his stance that Asamoah Gyan has the best records when it comes to World Cup tourney in Africa and moreover, he has acquired a licence from Fifa as a football coach.
“At this moment, I think we should hand over the managerial role of the Black Stars team to Asamoah Gyan. We saw his playing days and can attest to his vigorous attitude, confidence and skills. He is the perfect option for Ghana and I pray the Authrities gives him the job on a long term. After all, he has acquired every licence from Fifa as a coach. Give him the job” Nana Romeo calls out the GFA.
Ghanaians were thrown to shock as Ghana exited the Qatar World Cup.
The country was paired in Grouo H with South Korea, Portugal and Uruguay and couldn’t proceed to the 1/16th stage after picking 3 points only.
Ghana was defeated by Portugal in their first group game and had a slim win over South Korea.
Hoping to advance to the next stage of the competition, Ghana only needed a draw with Uruguay but squandered all opportunities and at the end of the 90 minutes, they Stars were slapped with 2 goals.
