According to reports, renowned Nigerian actor Amaechi Muonagor has passed away.

Morris Monye, the chairman of the Delta State Sports Association and a well-known social media influencer, affirmed this.

The actor’s extraordinary talent and contributions to Nollywood were highlighted by Monye, who expressed her great grief over his loss.

I’m deeply saddened to hear of Amaechi Muonagor’s demise. He was a gifted Nollywood actor, and Monye said, “His presence on our screens was truly masterful.”

“We provided him with all the assistance we could to enable him to seek medical attention in India while we worried about his health problems. This heartbreaking death underscores the need for improved healthcare in our nation,” he continued.

On November 27, 2023, Tony “Oneweek” Muonagor, the actor’s relative, disclosed the 61-year-old actor’s battle with renal disease. Muonagor starred in many films over his distinguished career, including the classic “Aki and Paw Paw,” in which he played the father of two boisterous teenagers.

Muonagor’s death happened not too long after Mr. Ibu (John Okafor), a well-known figure in Nollywood, passed away on March 2, 2024.

Following the announcement of Amaechi Muonagor’s demise, colleagues and admirers are in grief for the loss of a gifted actor whose legacy will live on in Nigerian cinema history.
