Veteran music producer Kwame Mickey has accused Ghanaian gospel group Team Eternity Ghana of sampling his track in their hit song titled “Defe Defe.”
In a Facebook post, Mr Mickey, the executive producer of Hallelujah Voices’ 2004 song “Defe Defe,” alleged that Team Eternity Ghana has infringed on his copyright by using a line from Hallelujah Voices’ song in their new release.
He expressed concerns by writing;
“ Who is that ‘Defe Defe’ singer? If I start right now, they will say I am causing trouble. What is the difference between the two songs? Someone tell her to report and do the needful, that’s all.
Despite the distinct melodies, Mickey asserted that both songs share the same lines, composition, and arrangement urging Team Eternity to address the issue.
