Vehicular Fire Accident Claims One Life, Leaves Two Injured

A vehicular fire at Asiakwa Junction in the Eastern Region has killed one person and left two others with life-threatening injuries.

According to report, the incident occurred on Monday, July 29, 2024, when a fully loaded DAF tanker carrying 54,000 litres of petrol collided with two Mazda Demios and a Hyundai truck.

The collision caused extensive fire damage, completely burning the bulk tank of the DAF tanker (GC 1054-11) and one Mazda Demio (GW 3254-13). Another Mazda Demio (CR 1182-19), the Hyundai truck (WR 4108-13), and the cowl of the DAF tanker sustained partial damage.

The team from the Ghana National Fire Service’s Bunso Fire Station led by ADO I Samuel Doe, responded and contained the blaze with support from Kyebi and Anyinam fire teams.

Additionally, Fire service personnel rescued the trapped victims and took them to Kyebi Government Hospital.
