Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has apologised to NPP supporters for failing to notify them before joining Dr. Bawumia’s campaign tour in the Ashanti Region.

Reacting to the backlash for supporting Dr. Bawumia, Mr. Agyapong clarified his actions and apologised to his followers.

He stated,

“It didn’t go well with some of you, and I want to apologise for not informing you before I went on the campaign tour. But I want all the party faithful to know that I have not resigned from the party, nor am I going independent, and I’m still a member of the NPP.

Mr Agyapong added:

On this day, June 16, 2024, which marks my 64th birthday, I urge all of us to get together and gather support for the party. I am urging my fans to use my birthday as an opportunity to reconcile, regardless of what transpired in the presidential primaries.”

According to reports, Dr. Bawumia’s campaign gained a huge boost on June 11, 2024, when the Assin Central lawmaker accompanied him on the NPP flagbearer’s three-day regional campaign tour.
