Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has stressed the need to upgrade the country’s hospitality infrastructure to attract more visitors and increase national revenue.
Speaking before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on January 22, 2025, Gomashie identified the country’s inadequate infrastructure as a barrier to meeting both domestic and international demand.
She admit that the lack of proper facilities limits the sector’s ability to generate revenue and called on local and international private sector partners to join her efforts in improving infrastructure once she is confirm.
“I am pledge to working closely with the private sector to expand the tourism sector’s capacity and address growing interest.”
Her comments came in response to concerns from key stakeholders about the declining state of Ghana’s hospitality sector, which has led many Ghanaians to seek tourism opportunities abroad.
