The University of Ghana has postponed the start of the 2024/2025 academic year in response to ongoing strikes by various teacher unions.
The statement emphasize,
“We inform students and stakeholders that the start of the 2024/2025 academic year has been postpone due to ongoing strikes by employee groups. However, special programs will continue as scheduled, and we will communicate a new start date in due course.”
Despite the postponement, the university confirmed that special programs will proceed as scheduled, and officials will announce a new date for the academic year’s commencement shortly.
The university’s Registrar announced this decision on September 25, 2024.
