The University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) has awarded an honorary doctorate degree to Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, during a Sod Cutting ceremony.
During the ceremony, Chairman of the University Council, Justice Victor J.M. Dotse praised the President for visiting the university six times and for his personal interest and dedication to its development.
Further, he also highlighted the successful collaboration between Ghana and China in improving UHAS’s infrastructure and commended past administrations for their role in establishing the university as a centre of excellence.
Moreover, the Vice Chancellor Professor Lydia Aziato in her report stated that the Ghanaian government provided 6.2 million in counterpart funding for the preliminary works on utilities and infrastructure for the China Phase II project.
She noted that, the university used an additional 5.2 million from its own funds to complete the initial phase of the university’s expansion.
