Written by Yad Media

U.S. Ambassador to Ghana, Virginia Palmer, has reaffirmed the strong ties between the United States and Ghana, even as both countries continue discussions over a newly imposed 10% U.S. tariff on Ghanaian exports.

During a meeting with Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Ambassador Palmer expressed optimism about the future of bilateral relations.

“I had a great conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs. We discussed the strength of the U.S.-Ghana relationship and explored ways to maintain and deepen it, including the specifics of the tariffs and steps both sides can take to strengthen our ties,” she said.

Further, Ambassador Palmer acknowledged the concerns raised by the Ghanaian government but emphasised that both countries remain committed to open dialogue and cooperation.
