The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has announced an indefinite strike starting Monday, July 15, in response to the approval of the sale of a 60% stake in four hotels.
This action comes in response to the National Pensions Regulatory Authority’s (NPRA) approval, which allows the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) to advance its controversial plan to sell a 60% stake in four hotels to Bryan Acheampong’s Rock City Hotel.
TUC Secretary General, Dr Yaw Baah, voiced his perplexity over why the NPRA would permit SSNIT to continue with the transaction without further discussions, particularly after initially directing SSNIT to halt the process.
