Trump Rules Out Another Presidential Run If He Loses

Written by Sarah Boye

Former President Donald Trump has made it clear that if he loses in November, he doesn’t see himself running for president again.

In an interview when asked by Sharyl Attkisson about a potential future bid, Trump firmly responded,

“No, I don’t. I don’t see that at all. Hopefully, we’re going to be successful.”

As Trump launches his third presidential campaign, he juggles court appearances in four criminal cases alongside his campaign stops. He frequently highlights the challenges he and his team have faced during the 2024 election, framing them as indicative of what’s at stake.

In an August livestream with Elon Musk, Trump reflected on his reasons for running again. “I didn’t need this. I had a very nice life. I didn’t need to go through court battles while running for president,” he said. Despite this, he added, “If I had to do it over again, I would, because this is far more important than me or my life.”

Trump also addressed speculation about Tulsi Gabbard or Robert F. Kennedy Jr., both former Democrats now backing his campaign, potentially serving in his cabinet. He clarified that no promises were made, stating, “It could be, but I didn’t make deals with anybody. It’s too early for that.”

After an assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July, Trump briefly spoke about unity. However, he has since shifted focus, blaming Democratic rhetoric for political violence, saying, “They are a danger. They’re destroying our country.” He also reiterated his belief that only “consequential” presidents are at risk, referencing a recent gunman incident at his Florida golf course.

With President Joe Biden withdrawing from the 2024 race, Trump now stands as the oldest presidential nominee in history, making age and mental ability key topics in this election cycle.
