Toyota Ghana Limited has strategically introduced three new vehicle models at an unveiling event held at their Accra branch.
During the event, Managing Director and CEO Kohji Yanaka emphasized that this launch aims to bolster their market presence and cater to the diverse needs of their customers.
Mr Yanaka underscored the timeliness of these new models in meeting customer demands, attracting more buyers, and expanding their market share in the automotive sector.
He highlighted the new generation Prado as a flagship model and introduced the Vitz as a new A-segment entry vehicle, noting Toyota’s historical weakness in this market segment. Along with the Urban Cruiser, these models are expected to strengthen their market share, which currently stands at around 30%, with aspirations to increase it to 38-40%.
Head of Sales Operations Andrew Lamptey assured customers of the value for money these new models offer and mentioned plans for installment payment options. He acknowledged the impact of the Cedi’s depreciation on prices but stressed the worth of these vehicles.
The new Toyota Vitz, designed for affordability and low running costs, targets new entrants, young professionals, and urban commercial drivers. It features a spacious 295L cargo area and smart connectivity options such as Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB, and Voice Controls.
