“They Plotted My Defeat Due To My Absence “-Adwoa Safo

Written by Yad Media

Former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo insists that party officials deliberately orchestrated her defeat in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries, blaming it on controversies surrounding her prolonged absence from Parliament.

In an interview, she accused the party of misjudging her actions as unfair and punishing her as a result.

“That’s what I think the party misunderstood me on and decided to punish me for, and that cost me my primaries,” she said.

Further, she argued that despite her years of dedicated service and public apology, party members had already turned against her.

Adwoa Safo, a three-term MP confident of re-election, lost the January 27, 2024, primaries to former Ghana Free Zones Authority CEO Michael Oquaye Jr.
