The Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, hosted a durbar to honor Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at his royal palace in Accra.
During Otumfuo’s address at the Ga Mantse Palace, he thanked the Ga State for their warm reception and highlighted that his visit aimed to foster unity between the Ga and Asante people and dispel the perceived rivalry between the tribes.
He said:
“The focus of modern chieftaincy is development and not fighting to conquer new territories.The Ga and Ashanti people must unite for our development.
All Ga chiefs should support Nii Teiko Tsuru II.Our focus must be on unity and development for the benefit of our children.
“The fight now should be for development in the interest of the future generation.”
The event included various cultural displays, marking the historic visit of the Asantehene to the Ga state.
