Ghanaian singer Mabel Tiwaa Rockson of Hallelujah Voices has expressed shock at Team Eternity’s approach to addressing copyright issues regarding the song “Defe Defe.”
In an interview on Hello FM, she voiced her displeasure with how Team Eternity handled the situation.
“I enjoyed their song when I first heard it, after hearing my children sing it and thinking they had come up with it. However, it turned out to be a group’s rendition,” she said.
Thereafter,
“After my husband called them out, they urged us to treat the issue as Christians, which I found quite offensive.
“Their response is disheartening, and my husband, Kwame Mickey, plans to pursue the matter, asserting that Team Eternity used elements of his production without permission.
I believe an earlier approach could have resolved matters more amicably. “
This follows recent allegations on the part of Team Eternity for song sampling.
