The National Sports Authority (NSA) is inviting contractors to submit electronic bids, including a 2% tender security, by January 6, 2025, for the renovation of football pitches across Ghana.
In a statement, the NSA stressed that the project is crucial for enhancing player performance and ensuring that Ghana’s sports facilities are competitive enough to host international events.
Hence, bidders can access tender documents through the Ghana Electronic Procurement System (e-GP) portal or at the NSA office on Starlet 91 Road.
Further, the authority explained that the project, funded through the NSA’s budget, aims to upgrade the country’s playing surfaces to meet FIFA standards, enhance sports infrastructure, and seek to improve the quality of football in Ghana by providing world-class fields for training and competition.
This comes in response to a previous ban by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on Baba Yara Stadium, which exposed the need for major upgrades to Ghana’s stadiums.
Although CAF later allowed Black Stars matches at the Accra Sports Stadium, the NSA, in partnership with the Ghana Football Association, engaged a Dutch company to assess pitches nationwide and propose reconditioning plans.
