In place of John Kumah, who passed away on March 7, 2024, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reassigned Stephen Amoah, a member of parliament representing Nhyiaeso and deputy minister of trade and industry, as a deputy minister of finance.
Mr. Amoah served as the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry before his reorganization.
On Tuesday evening, April 2, 2024, Director of Communications at the White House Eugene Arhin signed a news release announcing the reorganization.
In order for his nomination to join the government right away and help carry out President Akufo-Addo’s second term in office, the president is hopeful that Parliament will act in a bipartisan manner and “expedite the approval of his nominee.”
