Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has recalled Members of Parliament from their recess for an emergency session scheduled for September 3.
On Wednesday, August 7, he announced that the session will come off due to some major development. His decision follows after Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin petitioned him, expressing concerns about the indefinite adjournment of Parliament on Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
In his letter dated July 31, Afenyo-Markin stressed the urgent need to reconvene Parliament to address critical government issues.
The emergency session will address several important matters, including the Financing Agreement between the Government of Ghana and the International Development Association, tax exemptions for One District, One Factory Programme beneficiaries, issues concerning the Ghana Financial Stability Fund, and the review of various bills.
