Ghanaian singer Byno Ayoni has revealed that he has narrowly escaped kidnapping attempts twice due to his albinism.
In an interview with Hitz FM, the rising artist spoke about the troubling myths surrounding albinos, particularly the widespread belief that they have gold beneath their skin.
He shared his personal experiences, which illustrate the serious threats faced by individuals with this condition.
“Some people genuinely believe that albinos carry gold under their skin.The deeply ingrained stigma has led to violence against albinos in various parts of the world. Also,such misconceptions have fostered a dangerous environment where those with albinism are at risk simply because of their appearance.”he remarked
Byno stressed that his experiences serve as a powerful reminder of the urgent need for greater awareness and education to dispel these harmful myths and protect the lives of those living with albinism.
