During a press conference held in Accra on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, Hassan Ayariga, the flag bearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), urged the government to urgently address the irregular electric power outages.
He suggested that individuals with successful track records should lead the company or privatise it if the government cannot manage it effectively.
Mr. Ayariga expressed readiness to purchase the company to ensure reliable electricity supply for Ghanaians, stating,
“Sell Electricity Company Ghana to me. The power crisis demands immediate attention and action from the government.We will not sit idle while our country suffers.”
He further held the Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, and his staff responsible for mismanaging the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
