Broadcast journalist Andy Dosty has sparked controversy with his recent comments comparing Sarkodie to American rapper Lil Wayne.
On his show, Dosty asserted that Sarkodie excels as a performer compared to Lil Wayne.
“He’s a talented rapper and a great studio artist, but I wasn’t impressed with his live performance. Although Lil Wayne is one of my favourites, I believe Sarkodie is a far superior performer,” Dosty stated.
Further,Andy also commented on the debate over Lil Wayne’s exclusion from the 2025 NFL Super Bowl halftime show in favour of Kendrick Lamar.
“Lil Wayne won’t deliver anything memorable. If he’s on that stage, it won’t be impressive. Usher, Rihanna, and especially Michael Jackson have set a very high standard,” he said on Hitz FM.
Moreover, he shared his disappointment after attending a Lil Wayne concert in the USA with Kwabena Appiah, CEO of the State Housing Company.
“I had seen him perform before, but I was left frustrated and disappointed. I was with Nana Appiah from State Housing, and it was a letdown,” Dosty added.
He concluded that while Lil Wayne is a skilled rapper, he does not measure up to Sarkodie.
