Written by Yad Media

The Minister-designate for Communications, Sam George, has committed to pushing for the reintroduction of the Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill in Parliament.

During his appearance before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on January 30, George reiterated his strong support for the bill and emphasised its importance in safeguarding Ghanaian values and protecting children.

“The anti-gay bill is vital for our nation, our family values, and the protection of our children. In this 9th Parliament, I will ensure it is reintroduce. Whether as a private member’s bill or a government bill, I will work with the government, and if necessary, I will personally reintroduce it,” he declared.

George’s statement came after President John Dramani Mahama suggested that a government-sponsored bill would be more effective than the current Private Member’s Bill.
