Ghanaian-Gambian actress and socialite Princess Shyngle has urged women not to give in to societal pressure to marry.
Drawing from her experiences as a three-time divorcee, she highlighted the harmful effects of societal expectations that push women into premature marriages. she noted,
“Many women find themselves in unhappy unions while feeling compelled to maintain a facade of happiness to meet societal standards.”
Further, Shyngle encouraged single women to prioritise their own happiness over external approval, emphasising that life can be more fulfilling without the rush to marry.
Moreover, she also cautioned women to observe their partners’ behaviours, particularly regarding sexuality, suggesting that some men may marry to hide their true sexual preferences.
