Dr Likee, a Ghanaian actor, has warned parents and guardians against sending their children on errands to buy alcohol and other highly addictive substances.
A similar action, he claims, led to his drinking and smoking addiction.
He explained that he tasted the locally-distilled alcohol (akpeteshie) several times out of curiosity, which led him to start smoking cigarettes in no time.
“If you’re at home with a child, never ask them to buy you jot and drinks,” he said.
Ras Nene, the actor who portrayed his real-life gangster character in films, added that it took God’s intervention and focus to escape the “street” lifestyle, which has propelled his life to become better.
