Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician MOG, privately known as Nana Yaw Boakye, has urged fellow gospel artists to focus on building meaningful relationships rather than prioritising financial gain.
In a recent interview on Channel One TV, MOG emphasised the vital role relationships play in the gospel music ministry.
“Money is important, but good relationships ultimately lead to financial success. If you manage relationships well, you can achieve far more than what you charge,” he said.
While acknowledging the significant resources invested in music projects, MOG stressed that the value of relationships often outweighs financial considerations.
“When you have a strong relationship with someone, giving freely doesn’t feel like a burden. The highest form of currency is a relationship. My goal has always been to build meaningful connections, which often lead to unexpected blessings and invitations to programs,” he explained.
Further, MOG also addressed the issue of upfront payment demands, acknowledging that some artists ask for it due to past experiences.
“I can’t criticise those who require payment in advance; their stance is based on their experiences. For me, how you relate to people will determine whether or not I’ll accept your future invitations,” he said.
