President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has assured the nation of a transparent and peaceful election in December.
Speaking at the 13th Biennial and 51st Conference of the Methodist Church of Ghana in Kumasi, he dismissed claims that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) plans to rig the elections.
He emphasised that rigging is contrary to the NPP’s principles and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to democracy and fairness.
President Akufo-Addo reiterated his dedication to a peaceful electoral process, stating that he has experienced and intends to ensure a smooth election period. He pledged to support the security agencies in their role of maintaining peace and stability.
He expressed confidence that the security forces will fulfil their responsibilities, ensuring that Ghanaians can vote freely and without fear of violence or intimidation.
The Akufo-Addo-led NPP remains committed to conducting the elections with transparency and respect for the country’s electoral laws.
