“Presidential Aspirants Failed To Meet Requirements”-EC

Written by Sarah Boye

The Electoral Commission (EC) has clarified that several presidential aspirants were disqualified for not meeting the necessary requirements.

At an Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa emphasized that the Commission thoroughly vetted all nomination forms before disqualifying certain candidates from the upcoming December 7 elections.

Further, Jean Mensa reiterated that the process was transparent and fair, with committees in place to review the forms and generate reports based on their findings.

Moreover, she assured the public that the EC has nothing to hide and does not intend to block anyone’s presidential ambitions.

This clarification follows the EC’s decision on September 20 to disqualify 11 presidential candidates, including Bernard Anbataayela Mornah, the flagbearer of the People’s National Convention (PNC), for failing to meet the required criteria.
