President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced the approval of visa-free entry to Ghana for all African nationals.
In his keynote address at the APD 2024, he confirmed that Ghana will become one of the few African nations joining Rwanda, Seychelles, The Gambia, and Benin that offer visa-free access to all African passport holders.
“The policy will take effect before my term ends on January 6, 2025. This initiative is to promote the free movement of people, goods, and services across the continent and to support economic integration through the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).”
Further, Akufo-Addo confirmed that the process is already underway this year, fulfilling the promise he made during the Africa Prosperity Dialogues (APD 2024) in January.
