The Ghana Police Service has cautioned #FreeTheCitizens protesters to avoid any actions that could disturb public order during their upcoming march.
In a statement issued ahead of the protest, the police emphasised their responsibility under the Public Order Act to ensure a smooth and peaceful demonstration.
They also warned that they would disperse the crowd if there were reasonable grounds to suspect a breach of peace during the three-day demonstration by the Concerned Citizens Against Galamsey.
The police further stated they would assist in managing the protest by directing routes to avoid disrupting pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
The march, set to take place from October 3 to 5, 2024, will proceed from Okponglo, Legon, to Independence Square in Accra.
