Police Arrest 26 For Displaying And Firing Toy Guns In Public

The Ghana Police Service has arrested 26 people for openly displaying and recklessly firing toy guns in public. 

In a statement dated November 25, the police announced that the suspects are assisting with investigations and will soon face prosecution. Officers also seized several toy guns during the operation. 

The police announced that they are conducting special operations to arrest others contributing to this growing trend reported in parts of the country.

Further, they urged the youth to stop engaging in such acts, warning that it violates Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29), which prohibits behaviour likely to disturb public peace.
