Police Announce Security Measures For Presidential Swearing-In

The Ghana Police Service has announce security measures for the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect John Dramani Mahama and Vice President-elect Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, set for Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

In a press statement, The police reveal it will close several roads in Accra to both vehicles and pedestrians from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to ensure safety and smooth proceedings.

The affected areas include the Ako Adjei Interchange, AU Roundabout, State House, Osu Cemetery Traffic Light, Independence Square, and surrounding roads.

Further, police are advising motorists to use alternative routes, as roads like 28th February Road, Salem Avenue and Abdul Nasser-Gamel Road since Starlet 91 Road, and Lokko Street will be reroute.
