The People’s National Convention (PNC) has thrown its support behind the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the December 7 election.
In a press engagement, the PNC Chairman Samson Asaki Awingobit announced the decision.
“With just nine days to the general elections, the PNC cannot remain neutral,”After extensive deliberations at a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting attended by 15 regional representatives, we voted by majority to endorse the NDC Presidential Candidate for the 2024 elections.” Mr. Awingobit said.
The PNC’s decision comes after the Electoral Commission (EC) disqualified its presidential candidate, Bernard Mornah, along with 10 others, citing errors in their nomination forms.
In response, Mr Mornah filed a lawsuit against the EC, arguing that the Commission infringed on his constitutional rights by refusing to allow him to rectify the mistakes.
