The chairman of the Pentecost Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has urged traditional leaders to promote moral uprightness within their communities.
He emphasised the importance of integrating moral values into national development, calling on traditional leaders to set good examples and uphold morality.
Specifically, he urged them to help stop illegal mining to protect forest reserves and water resources.
Apostle Nyamekye encouraged leaders to adopt a generational mindset and fulfil their responsibilities to safeguard natural resources for future generations.
“We need the discipline of living by these values and being intentional about achieving behavioural change,” he stated.
Additionally, Apostle Nyamekye argued that moral principles are essential for developing robust institutions and structures that strengthen the nation.
He highlighted that the morals, actions, and attitudes of citizens significantly influence the country’s growth, noting that individuals with conflicting values view progress as a challenging endeavor.
The two-day event, themed: Moral Vision and Development: The Role of Traditional Rulers,” focused on the necessity of a national moral vision for development.
