Sudan’s head coach, Kwesi Appiah, expressed his regret that his team’s 2-0 victory over Ghana was unfortunate for the Black Stars in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match.
During a post-game press conference, the former Black Stars coach acknowledged Ghana’s strength but lamented that only one team can advance.
“I’m happy we’ve brought joy to the Sudanese people, but it’s unfortunate for Ghana,” he remarked.
Having managed the Black Stars during two separate tenures, Appiah expressed sympathy for his former team after the match.
Further, he secured four points against Ghana during the qualifiers, with Sudan winning 2-0 in the second match of the doubleheader on Tuesday, following a goalless draw in the first leg last Thursday.
With this victory, Sudan increased their total to seven points after four matches, while the Black Stars remained in third place in Group F with just two points.
