Ghanaian artist and DJ Vyrusky has stressed that the success of Ghana’s music industry hinges on increased financial investment and stronger networks.
In a recent interview, he explained that Ghana’s industry stagnates because it lacks the financial resources and connections that drive growth in Nigeria.
“Nigerians operate differently because they have the resources and connections to push their industry forward. We lack both the money and the relationships needed to move in the same way,” DJ Vyrusky stated
Further, he also highlighted a cultural challenge, pointing out that some Ghanaians fail to support others after reaching success.
“Some Ghanaians forget their roots once they’re there. In contrast, Nigerians in powerful positions actively create opportunities for themselves. We need more Ghanaians in key positions who will support one another,” he concluded.
