The Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress, Sammy Gyamfi asserts that the Office of the Special Prosecutor’s report on the Airbus scandal confirms John Mahama as the incorruptible leader Ghana needs to fight corruption.
Responding to the OSP’s report released on, which identified Mahama as “Government Official 1” in the scandal but cleared him of any bribery charges, Mr Gyamfi stated:
“Seven and a half years after leaving office, John Mahama remains squeaky clean with unblemished integrity. Certainly, John Mahama is the incorruptible leader Ghana needs to win the fight against corruption.”
The OSP officially identified Mahama as ‘Government Official 1’ in the Airbus bribery scandal but cleared him of any corruption allegations while addressing the media on Thursday, August 8, 2024.
According to him, his office found no evidence of corruption involving John Mahama or his brother, Adam Mahama, in the aircraft procurement.
The report further indicates that there is no evidence suggesting that Samuel Adam Foster (also known as Samuel Adam Mahama), Philip Shun Middlemerth, or Lean Sarah Davies acted as conduits for bribery between Airbus employees and former President John Mahama or any other public official.
