Organised labour has ended it’s indefinite strike over SSNIT’s decision to sell its 60 percent stake in four hotels.
In a press statement, Secretary-General of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), Dr Yaw Baah announced that Organised Labour has called off the strike, requesting all workers to resume work on Tuesday, 16th July, 2024.
However, Organised Labour has demanded that SSNIT resolve all pension-related issues within a month, despite halting the sale on the same day the strike began.
The strike received strong support from various affiliate labour unions, including the Judicial Service Staff Association of Ghana (JUSAG), the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), the Ghana Private Road Transport Union of TUC Ghana (GPRTU), and several teacher unions.
