On Wednesday September 4, chaos erupted at the Ministry of Finance as members of the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Brigade clashed with security personnel during a protest.
The ORAL Brigade gathered to highlight what they claim are significant financial mismanagement issues under the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo administration.
Their protest centred on several controversial transactions, notably the unresolved $34.9 million Ambulance Spare Parts deal, which they argue has raised serious concerns about procurement processes and fund usage.
The brigade also criticised the Ghana Revenue Authority’s involvement with the Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML) deal.
The clash began when ORAL Brigade members tried to access restricted areas of the Ministry in an effort to recover alleged embezzled funds.
The situation quickly escalated into physical altercations, leading to a temporary lockdown of the building.
