Ghanaian musician Olivetheboy has responded to public concerns about his recent performance at the National Democratic Congress Youth Manifesto launch.
In an interview, Olivetheboy addressed his critics by pointing out that, although some may question his choices, his loyal fans understand that his focus is on his career and earning a living.
He explained that son of former President John Mahama,Sharaf Mahama invited him to perform and that he viewed it as a business opportunity.
“I accepted the invitation to perform, just like I do for events such as Afrochella. My performance does not serve as a political endorsement,” he said.
Further , the young artist emphasised his neutral stance on politics.He clarified that he participated purely for professional reasons and did not endorse the NDC.
“If NPP or CPP hire me, I will perform because it is business and members of the party are my friends “.
