Convener of Democracy Hub, Oliver Barker-Vormawor has suffered serious health issues on Thursday, prompting his transfer to the police hospital for urgent medical attention.
In an October 10 statement, Democracy Hub explained that medical professionals are conducting tests to assess his condition and determine if hospitalisation is necessary, as his health has worsened twice since his detention.
Additionally, the statement explain that despite several appeals to the Accra High Court, authorities have denied him bail, leaving him the only one among 53 protesters still detained.
Democracy Hub has raised concerns about Barker-Vormawor’s health and called for urgent attention, urging the public to keep him in their thoughts and prayers while they await updates.
Police arrested Barker-Vormawor on September 23, 2024, during the #StopGalamsey and #OccupyJulorbiHouse protests.
