Ghanaian female Dancehall artist Barbara Naa Okailey Nyarko, popularly known as OV, has recently expressed her admiration for fellow artist Black Sherif, stating that he serves as a motivation to her. In an interview with Giovanni Caleb on Showbiz 360, the winner of Season 7 MTN Hitmaker shared her interest in collaborating with Black Sherif, who was awarded the Artiste of the Year at the VGMA 2023.

During the interview, OV commended Black Sherif for his remarkable achievements in the music industry, highlighting how far he has come in his career. She expressed her pride in his accomplishments and credited him as a source of inspiration for her own artistic journey, stating, “I’m proud of him. He has motivated me. He is one of the people that made me feel like slow down, just keep going.”

This statement from OV comes after a previous interview with Giovanni Caleb on 3FM Drive, where she opened up about her departure from Stonebwoy’s record label. She revealed that the abrupt exit had a significant impact on her mental well-being, leading to depression and instability. As a result, she took a long hiatus from her music career.

However, with the support and inspiration she found in Black Sherif’s journey, OV now feels rejuvenated and ready to make a powerful comeback. She is excited about the potential collaboration with the award-winning artist and believes that their unique styles could create something extraordinary for their fans.

As OV continues to forge her path in the Dancehall genre, she remains grateful for the support and motivation she has received from her peers, particularly from artists like Black Sherif. With her renewed energy and determination, OV is set to overcome any challenges that come her way and deliver more incredible music to her loyal fans.
