NSA Denies Allegations Of “Ghost Names” And Inflated Payrolls

Written by Sarah Boye

The National Service Authority (NSA) has strongly denied allegations of “ghost names” and inflated payrolls for National Service personnel between 2018/2019 and 2023/2024.

In a statement released on Monday, December 16, the NSA called the claims “baseless and unfounded.” It emphasized that since 2021, the Authority has implemented robust electronic systems to ensure transparency and prevent fraud.

Further, the NSA also pointed out that the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Finance, and other key stakeholders have substantial evidence of the Authority’s effective system and the progress made over the past four years.

These measures, the NSA said, have saved over 300 million cedis and stopped numerous fraud attempts.
